Integral Engineering

Structural & Civil Engineers

What we do:

Founded in 1999, Integral Engineering Design is structural and civil engineering practice with offices in Bath and London.

The team offers not just structural and civil engineering input but thrives on collaboration to provide a holistic integrated approach to the requirements of each project.

The aim is always to challenge assumptions if it will lead to a better design and cost savings.

Allied to Integral’s engineering role they are passionate to create buildings that are both environmentally friendly and energy-efficient with all staff members taking a keen interest in sustainable design.

This means keeping well abreast of new technologies and materials and thoroughly understanding the performance of those they specify. Whether it be thermal qualities, energy efficiency, how they're going to age, how the building is going to be used and maintained.

As well as working on new buildings the team has a strong reputation for re-use and conservation work with two engineers on the Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineering (CARE).

Since it started Integral has been involved on an exceptionally wide range of projects including schools, colleges, universities, offices, civic buildings, residential and housing developments, hospital buildings, restaurants and the conservation of historic buildings.

Why we do it:

Reducing environmental impact is a crucial passion for the whole team and is core to how they approach all design work.

All care about the environment and sustainable design and the team hold an ISO 14001 for its environmental management systems.

As a result, everyone who works at Integral has a unique perspective and can contribute their insight into achieving things.

It's a relaxed environment, but all work hard, with a passion for exploring entirely new technologies.

Seeing a project completed that incorporates our innovative engineering and is well received by clients and those who work, live or use it is incredibly satisfying.

The People who do it:

As an equal opportunities employer, Integral respects and value everyone’s contribution either technically or in the way we work together, whilst maintaining a healthy “life/work” balance.

“Learning lunches” are held every Monday and there are plenty of other opportunities within the working week to share knowledge and ideas.

There are also several team days each year including a business day and an away day to enjoy something new.

"It's great to work on varied projects alongside like-minded people, continually being challenged and supported while having fun!"
